Dune

dust, rust, and eyes gone blue from the spice

EverBox.Space dashboard in the Dune theme — dust, rust, and eyes gone blue from the spice

The aesthetic

The desert in that story is not orange the way a sunset is orange - it is dust-coloured, low in saturation, the same shade for a thousand miles. The dials take exactly that: a muted rust climbing to a pale sand, deliberately quiet, because the landscape's whole argument is that it does not care whether you are there.

Then the blue. Spice-blue eyes are the only saturated colour in that world and they are shocking every time. Here it does the controls, which means the one thing on screen that reacts to you is the one colour the desert cannot produce.

What stays calm

This is one of the least saturated themes in the set, and it is separated from the other warm themes by exactly that. Volcanic Ember is heat; this is dust that has been hot for ten thousand years. Glass stays neutral, type is untouched, and the blue never appears in text.

Who it is for

For the very long countdown to something inevitable. For patience as a working style. And for anyone who likes an interface that looks like it has been sitting there a while and will still be there later.

Dune EverBox theme

An EverBox palette for countdowns, timers and shared spaces. Every dial sits in the same spice rust, on a ground the colour of sand in the dark. The controls are the one cold thing on the page: eye-blue.

Colour palette

Four dials warming through rust: the year a dark oxidised iron, the month burnt sienna, the day the rust of a canyon wall at noon, and the hour a dusty terracotta. Behind them near-black with red in it, and panels the brown of deep sand. The controls take a clear ice blue — the only cool colour in the theme, and it reads as water on a planet that has none.

Every EverBox theme is a dark colour scheme for the same calm dashboard — countdowns, timers, notes and a quiet ambient clock. Pick one and it applies everywhere; the layout never changes, only the colour.
