A single hue, five shades

Midnight resists the temptation of contrast. There are no teal highlights, no warm accent pulling in another direction — just one note of indigo, held at five different luminances. The year ring sits at the darkest end, barely distinguishable from the background at a glance, then each ring brightens by the same step until the second ring breathes in pale lavender. The ramp is the whole palette. It works because indigo-violet already carries depth at low lightness and translucency at high; the five shades make that range legible.

The ground

The body gradient runs from a near-black carrying a quiet violet undertone up to a tone dark enough to feel like shadow but warm enough to feel occupied. Both ends share the hue family of the rings with most of the saturation taken out, so the backdrop recedes and the rings read clearly. Glass cards stay the universal neutral, ring tracks stay the universal neutral, and the accent button borrows the day ring's violet at two opacities. Nothing here raises its voice.

When to use it

Choose Midnight when you want a space that feels like intentional solitude — a planner opened after 11 pm, a countdown to something you haven't told anyone yet, a set of boxes that belong to the quieter version of your day. The theme keeps the EverBox whisper at its most literal: indigo is the color of depth, and depth is what time deserves.
