Aurora Borealis

green and violet light moving over polar dark

EverBox.Space dashboard in the Aurora Borealis theme — green and violet light moving over polar dark

A natural light, not a digital one

The northern lights are often rendered in neon: hot cyan slamming against magenta, everything oversaturated to prove the effect. The EverBox treatment strips that back to one note, one hue. We keep only the green — the dominant wavelength in most real auroral displays — and walk it from a deep forest anchor at the year ring to a pale mint breath at the fastest one. The year ring holds the darkest shade so the slowest-moving arc anchors the composition, and the second ring catches the most light, as if it's the band closest to the zenith.

A dark sky with depth in it

The body gradient moves from a near-black with just enough green in it at the base to a dark pine at the top, so the two glows land warm instead of grey. The star layer adds a scatter of fixed white points at low opacity — not a night sky, but the suggestion of one. Glass cards stay the universal neutral; ring tracks stay the universal neutral. The only accent reuses the day ring's green at two opacities on buttons, so nothing competes with the progression of the rings.

When to pick it

Choose Aurora Borealis when you want a theme that feels remote and unhurried — a colour associated with rare, slow natural phenomena brought to a dashboard that tracks time the same way. It works especially well for spaces that hold long-horizon goals: annual plans, multi-year projects, life countdowns where the pace of change is meant to feel geologic.

Aurora Borealis EverBox theme

A teal-green EverBox palette for countdowns, life boxes, and shared spaces. Dark-ground only, single-hue rings, universal glass. Inspired by the polar aurora — five shades of glacial light on a midnight ground.

Polar glow color palette

Five steps of aurora green: the year a deep sea-green, the month a clean emerald, the day a bright jade, the hour a softer mint, and the fastest ring a pale seafoam. Beneath them, a near-black with green in it and dark pine panels above. The accent is the bright jade from the middle of the ramp.
